Two trucks laden with heavy weapons seized in Landikotal

LANDIKOTAL: Law enforcement agencies on Saturday seized a large cache of weapons from Landikotal on the Pak-Afghan highway. Two trucks laden with missiles and anti-aircraft shells, were impounded by a squad of Khasadar Force led by Subedar Hekmat Khan. The ammunition, mostly of Russian and Chinese makes, had been brought to Landikotal from Afghanistan and was being smuggled to terrorists in Peshawar, Khyber Agency Political Agent Shafeerullah Wazir told reporters. He said the security agencies had been tipped off about the smuggling attempt around two weeks ago. The political agent said the drivers managed to escape. sudhir ahmad afridi
