Islamabad: Construction in G-sector villages banned
Construction in G-sector villages banned

ISLAMABAD: The district administration has banned construction of new houses in the villages falling in Sector G-15/3 and Sector G-14/1, 2 and 3 for two months with immediate effect. In this regard, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Saddar, Malik Muhammad Afsar Khan has imposed Section 144. He said Sector G-15/3 was being acquired for the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF), while Sector G-14/1, 2 and 3 had already been acquired for development of a housing scheme by the foundation.

New sectors: The federal government has decided to open new residential sectors in zone II and Zone V. The summary to open new sectors has been sent to the prime minister for approval. Earlier, the housing foundation had decided to open sector F-12 but could not due to some unknown reason. Islamabad faces shortage of 35,000 houses. The prime minister has already directed CDA and Housing Ministry to take steps to overcome shortage of houses in Islamabad. agencies
