Railways Ministry forms body to identify available land

ISLAMABAD: The Railways Ministry has formed a three-member committee according to the directives of the Public Accounts Committee to reassess the Pakistan Railways’ land and recover all outstanding rental charges from lessees. According to a notification on Tuesday, the Asset Management Committee has been formed with immediate effect. Railway ministry sources said the AMC would assess the actual value of land available with railways and prepare a land cadastral outlining the ownership and possession of the entire railways property.
