Business activities come to a halt
LAHORE – All the business activities in the City remained suspended after the two suicide bomb attacks on the premises of Data Darbar on late Thursday night.
Most of the City markets, shopping malls and other business centres remained closed in protest against the brutal terrorist attacks on the sacred place. The traders associations including Anjaman-e-Tajran and Qaumi Tajir Ittehad also announced to observe three-day mourning by shuttering down all the business markets in the City. All the markets and shopping malls of the city including Anarkali Bazaar, Kashmiri Bazaar, Azam Market, Shah Alam Market, Madina Market, Chah Miran Market, Hall Road, Baden Road, The Mall, Panorama Centre, Liberty Market and other major business centres remained closed on Friday. The leaders of Anjaman-e-Tajran and Qaumi Tajir Ittehad condemned the terrorist attacks that claimed lives of a large number of innocent people, saying attacks on mosques, shrines and other worship places is not only a cruel act on the part of terrorists but also against the humanity. They said no Muslim and a human being could even think to attack or kill citizens offering prayers in mosques and shrines. The devotees busy in their spiritual and religious affairs were innocent and pious and most of them believe in serving humanity and preaching peaceful thoughts of Sufis among the masses. Besides business activities, it was witnessed most of the people suspended their other routine activities and attendance in government departments and other private companies remained thin. |
