Danish Schools project to continue at all cost: CM
JAND: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Sunday that his government would not halt Danish Schools project at any cost as it was their mission to provide modern education to the down trodden.
“Although the provincial government is facing many problems, Danish School System will continue and will be completed at all costs as the future of the poor children depends on it,” the chief minister said while talking to reporters after laying the foundation stone of Danish School Jand at Rakh Mari, some 80 kilometres from Attock. Shahbaz said the project was a ray of hope for those children who had never dreamt of quality education. “Facilities being provided in Danish Schools would be at par with Beacon House and LUMS,” he added. He said the project would be completed in November this year, adding, the regular classes would start in February 2012. Saying that the project was being closely supervised and monitored, he urged the media representatives of the area to also keep a close eye over the under-construction Danish Schools so that quality construction could be ensured. Expressing his views about the development in the area, he said work on Rs 400 million projects was currently underway while a mega project would also be announced for the district. Responding to a question, the chief minister said the shortage of staff in government schools would soon be overcome. Earlier, briefing the CM about project the DCO Shakeel Ahmad said that Danish School Jand was being constructed over an area of 200 acre and would cost Rs 275 million. He said more than 400 people would get jobs upon completion of the project |
