Insufficient parking space at markets causing traffic jams

ISLAMABAD: Insufficient parking space at Aabpara Market is creating problems for the citizens and the shopkeepers.

Most of the visitors and shopkeepers park their vehicles along roadside due to absence of proper parking place which affects the flow of traffic.

Vehicles parked at roadside occupy a major portion of the road, which creates hurdle in traffic flow and may cause accidents.

The shopkeepers of Aabpara market were of the view that CDA should construct parking lots on priority basis and also implement the building by-laws that bound plaza owners to leave enough space for parking.

According to CDA, a meeting will be held soon with officials of Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) in this regard to construct parking lots near main markets of the capital.

Engineering Wing of CDA had prepared comprehensive design for this project that would be implemented soon after discussion with ITP, a source in CDA said.
