Plea to CDA office’s conversion into commercial plot dismissed
ISLAMABAD - Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday dismissed the petition seeking cancellation the auction of complaint building in F-10 Markaz into commercial plot for mega project. The court could not interfere in the peripheral issues of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) as CDA has its own by laws to deal such matters, Justice Shoukat Aziz Siddqui ordered while hearing a petition of Dr.Muhammad Aslam Khaki chairman of Insaf Welfare trust. During the course of hearing, Aslam Khaki petitioner apprised the bench that CDA has recently announced the auction of seven commercial plots at various locations of Islamabad for the construction of mega project. Out of these plots, one located in F10 markaz which is working as inquiry office of CDA and it registers the complaints of Water, Sewerage and other facilities supplied by the CDA,he added Khaki contended that the said plot was being used for public purpose and cannot be converted to any commercial purpose or use. He prayed the court to cancel the said auction and direct CDA not to take any step towards such conversion or permission for construction of building. Adiala Jail officials get firing training : As many as 200 head wardens and other officials of Adiala Jail Rawalpindi has got firing training in Islamabad Police Firing Range aimed at refreshing their firing abilities and to get prepared to fight against terrorism. Islamabad police have extended cooperation to Jail administration to arrange such training. Under this training the jail officials were trained about firing the target in case of emergencies including terrorist activities to respond quickly and change their positions immediately. The training was provided by the Senior Superintendent Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi. The authorities of the Jail said that this training would help the jail officials to cope with the emergency situations including terrorist activities .He informed that Flag March of Rangers, Rawalpindi Police and Elite force outside and other sides of Adiala Jail was carried out to review the security arrangements of the Jail. It is informed that security officials of Adiala Jail were at high alert and they were ready to meet any untoward incident with zeal and commitment.DIG Prinson Malik Shaukat Feroze on this occasion said that the firing training would also be conducted in all jails of the region like Adiala Jail officials by the cooperation of Punjab Police at Jhelum, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Attock and Gujrat so that the officials could refresh their firing expertise. |
