Plots allotted to CDA employees
ISLAMABAD - The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has allotted 8,692 plots to its employees, including 450 to the widows of deceased employees, through ballot, Leader of the House in Senate Jehangir Badar said on Tuesday.
He said that 145 CDA employees had also been allotted government quarters since March, 2012. He said 93 houses had been allotted to widows, 21 of which had been allotted on a change basis, while 31 houses had been allotted on an out-of-turn basis. Najma Hameed expressed dissatisfaction over an answer submitted by the CDA. She said that she had asked for all details regarding the educational qualification and professional experience of a CDA engineering member, but the member’s name had been concealed. Senator Haji Ghulam Ali said there had been corruption for billions for rupees in the sale of plot 29-G in Sector G-9, and referred the matter to the relevant standing committee of the House. Badar said the CDA had converted the plot from a cinema to a commercial plot in 1999. He said the plot had been auctioned to Arif in 2003, but the allotment had been cancelled due to non-payment. However, the plot had been restored to Arif in 2011, and the complete premium of the plot was received five months later. |
