Owners To Ensure Fire Safety Measures In High-Rise Buildings In Lahore

As directed on Tuesday by the City District Government of Lahore, municipal administrators and LDA have been directed to issue notices to the high-rise buildings’ owners to ensure the installation and availability of fire-fighting equipment in the buildings. Furthermore, the CDGL ordained to seal such buildings, which fail to obey these instructions.

Yesterday, the DCO/CDGL Administrator, Syed Rizwan Mehboob, while presiding over a meeting mentioned that keeping in context the fire-related accidents including the tragedy that happened in the LDA plaza last month, no other option than issuing such order has left. He further extrapolated that the possessors of four-story or high buildings are supposed to follow these orders.
