Sindh To Approach Federal Government To Resolve The Issue Of Land Grabbed
Karachi – In order to resolve the issue of land grabbed by different organizations and federal ministries in Karachi, the Sindh Government plans to approach Federal Government. In this regard, a report was submitted by Sindh Land Utilization Department in the Supreme Court as well. In the report, it was claimed that Malir Cantonment, Port Qasim Authority, Karachi Port Trust, Pakistan Railways, Defence Housing Authority and other federal institutions have occupied almost 33,000 acres of land of the Sindh Government. Now the Sindh Government decides to take up the issue to the Federal Government. In a recent meeting on the performance of Revenue Department, the Chief Minster Sindh, Mr. Qaim Ali Shah said that a project called as ‘Land Administration and of Revenue Management Information System (LARMIS)’ has been launched by PPP Government with a view to computerize land records, which will be completed by December, 2014. |
