Man kills wife for ‘not giving birth to son’

NOWSHERA: A desperate man shot his wife dead after brutally beating her for not being able to give birth to a son. The alleged killer, Mateen, fled the scene after committing the heinous crime, leaving the body of his wife, Kabulai, in a pool of blood. He is said to be an Afghan national, presently residing at Akora Khattak Refugee Camp. Sources said that Mateen, who got married to Kabulai some four years ago, started abusing and beating his wife after the birth of a daughter and blamed his wife for not being able to give birth to a male child. Police registered a case on report of the deceased’s brother and started search for the alleged killer, who is still at large.
