Islamabad: Senate body to discuss foreign missions relocation
ISLAMABAD: A subcommittee of the Senate Standing Committee on Interior will meet today (Wednesday) to take up some important issues including shifting of diplomatic missions from residential areas to the Diplomatic Enclave. The meeting, which will be chaired by Senator Talha Mahmood, will take place at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters. It will discuss reasons for non-construction of diplomatic missions on the plots allotted to them in the Diplomatic Enclave. The committee will also take up the issue of use of 795 residential buildings/plots in the federal capital for commercial purposes. Moreover, it will look into the steps so far taken to restore these residential buildings/plots to their original status. Talha Mahmood has declared the meeting open for the media. staff report
