Shalimar Gardens Lahore (snap)
LAHORE: A view of the historic Shalimar Gardens that has been declared a World Heritage site in by UNESCO. Shalimar Gardens, is a Persian garden and was constructed during the Mughal era by Shah Jahan. The project management was carried out under the superintendence of Khalilullah Khan, a noble of Shah Jahan's court, in co-operation with Ali Mardan Khan and Mulla Alaul Maulk Tuni. It has three terraces, the upper terrace ‘Farah Baksh’ has 105 fountains, middle terrace ‘Faiz Baksh’ has 152 fountains and lower terrace ‘Hayat Buksh’ has 153 fountains. app http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp...008_pg13_9 |
