UN, Muslim rulers flayed for keeping mum on Israeli attack

The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) protested on Sunday outside Binnori mosque in reaction to the killing of Palestinians by Israeli forces. A countrywide protest call was given by JI Amir Qazi Hussain Ahmed to condemn the brutal massacre of more than 300 Palestinians by Israel warplanes.

JI Secretary General Syed Munawar Hassan condemned the silence of UN and Muslim rulers over the Israeli aggression. The protestors carried placards and banners inscribed with anti-Israel slogans.

In his strongly-worded speech, Hasan condemned UN, OIC and the Arab League “for becoming spokespersons of the US”. He said Palestine was surrounded by Muslim countries but its citizens were being slaughtered like animals. He also slammed Pakistani government for keeping silence over the issue.

Hasan also criticized President Zardari over his policy regarding the Mumbai episode and said: “Only faces have changed and the policies of the dictator still persist”.

Hasan asked President Zardari why he did not disclose the names of Benazir Bhutto’s killers if he knew who they were.
