Nadra may collect DNA data of citizens
LAHORE: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik has said India has never formally requested Pakistan for handing over Dawood Ibrahim and Masood Azhar. He categorically denied the reports that they were in Pakistan.
Talking to the media after the prime minister’s press briefing following the opening of the BISP regional official here on Wednesday, Malik said Pakistan had extended unconditional support to India for investigating the Mumbai incident and the country itself was a victim of terrorism. He said Islamabad had forwarded 30 questions to India regarding the Mumbai attacks after getting queries from Delhi. He further said the National Assembly, all the four provincial assemblies and the AJK assembly had passed resolutions against the incursion of US drone attacks into Pakistan and the government also strongly condemned it. He said the government had requested the US to stop the drone attacks, adding that the government was making full diplomatic efforts to stop the attacks. To a question, Malik said the government was considering use of the DNA testing technology in the National Database Regulatory Authority (Nadra). The government had DNA results of suicide bombers but it was not possible to trace their parents and relatives as there was no DNA data available in the country. http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=163327 |
