Rain breaks hot spell

By Our Correspondent LAHORE SCATTERED but heavy rain turned the weather of the provincial metropolis pleasant on Sunday. The rain brought down the maximum temperature to 31 C and minimum to 25 C while the relative humidity in the air was recorded at 57 per cent in the morning and 42 per cent in the evening. MET officials said a trough of westerly wave was moving across northern parts of the country. They said isolated thunderstorms and rains were expected over upper NWFP, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Lahore Divisions. The MET office predicted cloudy weather for Monday (today). Other cities which received rain were Jhang (24 mm), Shorkot (18 mm), TT Singh (12 mm), Mianwali (10 mm), Faisalabad and Bhakkar (09 mm), Okara and Joharabad (06 mm), Bahawalpur and Sahiwal (02 mm), Murree and Zafarwal 901 mm), Islamabad, Gilgit, Chilas, Astore, Mangla, Sialkot, Hunza and Multan. http://thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=201641 |
