Musharraf declared proclaimed offender (i.e. 'Ishtihari')

LAHORE: An Abbottabad district and sessions judge has ordered police to declare former president Pervez Musharraf a “proclaimed offender” and confiscate his property if he fails to cooperate with the probe into the whereabouts of a “missing person”, a private TV channel reported on Friday. According to the channel, the Abbottabad superintendent of police allegedly abducted Attiqur Rehman, an employee of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, two years ago. Attiq’s father filed a petition, saying that he wanted to make Musharraf a respondent in the case. The court summoned Musharraf, but he did not appear. Later, the court, under articles 87, 88 and 89 of the Pakistan Penal Code, declared him a proclaimed offender. Advocate Muhammad Iqbal had filed the complaint against Musharraf in March, the channel added. daily times monitor
