‘Karachi to get rented power from next month’

‘KARACHI: Federal Minister for Water and Power Raja Pervez Ashraf said on Sunday that the city would get power supply from rental power plants from next month, as they are a quick solution to the ongoing crisis of load shedding.

Talking to the media during his visit to the combined cycle power plant in Korangi, Ashraf said the government was making concentrated efforts to permanently solve the electricity crisis, adding that all power generation plants would be converted from oil to gas to cut production costs. He also said there was a dire need to boost the country’s power generation capacity, adding that the obsolete power plants needed urgent upgrading. ppi
