Scanners installed in federal capital
ISLAMABAD: Two state-of-the-art scanners, mobile and static, imported from China, have been installed at the main entrance of Islamabad at Rawat Toll Plaza and Islamabad Toll Plaza to assist police in detecting any explosive-laden vehicle, in case, it tries to infiltrate into the city. The capital police are fully aware of security requirements and provision of these scanners would help them ensure foolproof security, Police Spokesman Naeem Iqbal said. These scanners, he said, were a great gesture of friendship from China to Pakistan and this facility would be used to check suspected vehicles. The technology gadgets are useful to control crime and are being operated by officials trained by China. Around 200 vehicles were checked on Monday by these scanners and this checking would also continue in future. app |
