Six IMF experts leave Pakistan due to security reasons
ISLAMABAD (September 23 2008): Six technical experts of IMF delegation have left Pakistan due to security reasons, it is learnt here on Monday. However IMF technical mission head Di tata would remain in Pakistan till 24th September. According to the schedule IMF delegation had to remain in Pakistan for a period from September 12 to 24. Due to security concern, six technical experts of IMF left the country at an early date.
Under the technical review, most of the work of IMF team has been completed and technical mission's head would stay in the country for completion of Pakistan Economy Review. Meanwhile, a World Bank delegation completed a review of Tax Administration Reforms Programme (TARP) of the Federal Board of Revenue. FBR chairman Ahmad Waqar and his team of tax managers discussed issues relating to TARP. The final meeting of the World Bank was scheduled to be held on 23rd September. But in the changed circumstances the wrap-up meeting was convened on 22nd September for review of ongoing reforms in the Tax Administration. http://www.brecorder.com/index.php?id=812237 |
