Fowara Chowk parking plaza inauguration likely next month
RAWALPINDI: The much needed parking plaza at Fowara Chowk; Raja Bazaar is expected to open on October 15, as the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has disbursed hefty amount for the construction of the plaza to mitigate the sufferings of the shoppers.
Talking to APP, RDA Director General Chaudhry Naseer said that the finishing and renovation work is in final stage and most of the construction work has been completed. He said that Plaza will start its functioning very soon. The DG gave the credit to Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif who took a great interest for the construction of the parking plaza in Rawalpindi to mitigate the suffering of the shoppers. He hoped that Chief Minister would inaugurate the plaza in the next month. The parking plaza, an initiative of the Punjab government to address parking problems at the commercial hub of the city was handed over to RDA and NESPAK prepared the project feasibility report and the PC-1. Spreading over 4.5 kanals of land, the parking plaza will have five-storey and a basement and will be located in the heart of the city on the crossing of Liaqat and Jinnah roads near Fowara Chowk. |
