Locals slam new commercial centres in Gawalmandi

RAWALPINDI: Residents of Gawalmandi have protested against the construction of shopping and residential centres in the area. They said that the shopping and residential centres would increase traffic problems in the area. Meanwhile, the Cantt Board sold out nine shops for Rs 30 million during an auction, which was participated by a large number of people. Moreover, three shops and 22 apartments would be auctioned soon. Earlier, Station Commander Brigadier Zaman Nasrullah Khan Niazi had inaugurated a shopping centre in the area. The residents have requested the prime minster, chief justice and the army chief to stop the construction of shopping and residential centres in the area.
