Cantonment areas to have signal-free roads

Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has decided to make all the roads within its limits signal free.

The board has taken this decision following the successful efforts made by Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to make Murree Road free of signals in order to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

RCB has sought proposals from RDA to materialise its plan for making the roads passing through cantonment board areas signal free. RDA Engineering Department has taken the work for making the road between Motorway Chowk to Rawat signal-free.

RDA Director Engineering Muhammad Akram Soban will give briefing to senior officials of the board next month in this regard.

The respective department of RDA has completed survey of all the roads and highways passing through cantonment board areas.
