RDA Calls on Celebrities to Avoid Endorsing Illicit Projects
RDA Calls on Celebrities to Avoid Endorsing Illegal ProjectsRawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has urged the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing to initiate measures against unauthorized housing ventures. Simultaneously, the RDA has appealed to celebrities to ensure the legal status of housing projects before engaging in promotional endorsements. This notice was made public through local newspapers on October 30. The RDA has brought to attention that unapproved housing projects employ misleading advertising and endorsements to mislead the public. Of particular concern is the growing involvement of prominent and influential figures, including celebrities from the fields of film, television, music, and sports, in these misleading endorsement campaigns. The announcement disclosed that some of these well-known individuals have even become legal representatives of such illegal housing projects, leading the public to place trust in these ventures and invest in them. The general public has also been cautioned against investing in unauthorized residential schemes and vertical developments. Potential investors are advised to verify the legitimacy of no-objection certificates (NOCs) issued to these developments by the relevant authorities. According to reports, the RDA Metropolitan Planning & Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate takes action against unlawful housing projects in the Rawalpindi District in accordance with the RDA PDC Act, 1976, and the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Schemes Rules, 2021.
