LDA DG Takes Charge: Bund Road Projects Undergo Comprehensive Review with Emphasis on Accelerated DevelopmentIn a recent development, the Lahore Development Authority's (LDA) Director General, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, has taken proactive measures to oversee the progress of the 'controlled access corridor' project on Bund Road. A news report published on December 27 highlighted the director general's directive to contractors, urging an enhanced pace for the swift completion of development work. During the review session, DG Randhawa meticulously examined the advancements in both package 1 (Babu Sabu to Sagiyan) and package 2 (Sagiyan to Niazi Chowk) of the project. The meeting with contractors featured a strategic plan aimed at expediting the ongoing work on these crucial segments. To ensure an accelerated construction timeline, the director general specifically called upon the contractor responsible for package 2 to allocate additional resources, including machinery and labor. Updates on the development work were provided by LDA's Chief Engineer Israr Saeed, contractors, and the project director, revealing that 42 percent of package 1 and 25.5 percent of package 2 had already been completed. Following this, DG Randhawa personally visited Shahdara Chowk to assess the progress around the newly constructed flyover. During the on-site inspection, he directed officials and contractors to expedite pending tasks, such as plantation, side roads, and drains, ensuring the timely completion of this significant project. The director general underscored the importance of an efficient traffic management plan at Shahdara Chowk, emphasizing collaboration with the traffic police to facilitate smooth traffic flow in the area. The recent developments underscore LDA's commitment to the timely and efficient completion of the Bund Road projects, bringing them one step closer to becoming vital components of Lahore's infrastructure.
