Karachi: Plan to build three more flyovers

Government Department, Government of Sindh, has constituted a committee to co-ordinate and consults with experts about three more flyovers at Sharea Faisal near FTC Centre, Hassan Square (Civic Centre intersection) and the overhead bridge near Nursery.

Tasneem Ahmed Siddiqui, Director General Sindh Katchi Abadis Authority and Chairman, Task Force on Municipal Services will be the Chairman of the committee which will prepare a detailed report within a fortnight and fix priorities, said a government handout.

The terms of reference are: to finalize recommendations as the design and utility for the KMC’s proposed over-passes/flyovers; to examine the feasibility of getting the necessary steel structure fabricated by Pakistan Steel Mills; to formulate a strategy for round-the-clock construction of the flyovers to minimize completion time; to prepare guiding principles to ensure participation of reputed firms with maximum technical expertise and experience in the relevant field.
