Foreign travel statistics of Pakistanis

Ninety five percent have never had a chance to travel outside Pakistan, only five percent said they have gone abroad, said Gilani Research Foundation survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan.

According to survey, amongst those who have travelled overseas, majority 52 per cent have visited UAE. The remaining respondents have claimed to visit Asian countries 24 per cent, Europe 13 per cent Africa and USA 10 per cent.

The survey shows that majority, 44 per cent of these people went abroad for employment or business ventures and one-third, 34 per cent travelled to perform Haj or Umra. Some of the other reasons cited were recreation eight per cent, visiting relatives eight and education or others six per cent.

A nationally representative sample of men and women across the country were asked “Have you ever had a chance to travel abroad.” Only five per cent said yes whereas the majority of respondents 95 per cent claimed to have never travelled outside Pakistan.
