Development funds to be diverted for IDPs' help: Prime Minister
ISLAMABAD (November 11 2009): Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday said that the government would divert the development funds for the help and rehabilitation of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Waziristan. Speaking in the National Assembly, the Prime Minister urged the people as well as the provincial governments to come forward with the same spirit for helping the IDPs of Waziristan, displayed by them for the people of Malakand.

Gilani said that the all resources would be utilised to help the people of Wazitistan. He said that the terrorists are resorting to guerrilla war and suicide attacks by them are reaction to the successful military operation against them which would continue for some time. Gilani said that the inquiry into the threatening letters written to the Speaker National Assembly is underway.

He said that the NWFP government would be extended every possible help to fight the menace of terrorism. He said the federal government couldn't fight this challenge without the support of provincial governments and the people. He said capacity building of law enforcing agencies was top most priority of the government and every possible measure was being taken in this regard. The Prime Minister also paid homage to those jawans and officers who laid down their lives to defend the motherland against terrorism.
