Karachi: Zardari to address “Pakistan Khappey” rally on telephone
President Asif Ali Zardari is likely to make ‘important announcements’ in his telephonic address on Wednesday to the ‘Pakistan Khappey’ rally in Karachi, said Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Karachi President Najmi Alam.
At a press conference on Monday at the Karachi Press Club on Monday, Alam said that the rally will be organised near the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam in connection with the 42nd foundation day of the party. He added that the rally was named “Pakistan Khappey” (we want Pakistan) because this slogan had united the country after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto. Alam said that the workers will repose their confidence in the leadership of Asif Ali Zardari. The rally will also dispel the impression that PPP workers were demoralized, he said, adding that a “sea of people” will emerge from Lyari and Malir to attend the rally. The PPP leader claimed that certain elements were conspiring against the PPP government but the world will watch that people reject all conspiracies on Wednesday. Alam said that the PPP will respond in democratic and political way to slogans chanted against the government by nationalist parties. PPP Karachi general secretary Saeed Ghani said that rally will begin from Garhi Khuda Bux, the ancestral home of the Bhuttos, and will reach Karachi on Tuesday evening (today). http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=210166 |
