Whole nation is proud of Aisam-ul-Haq: CM F.P. Report
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that Aisam-ul-Haq is a national hero and the whole nation is proud of him. He said that the glorious success of Aisam-ul-Haq in US Open Tennis Tournament is a breath of fresh air for the Pakistani nation. He was talking to world-renowned tennis player Aisam-ul-Haq during a meeting here today. Member Provincial Assembly Syed Zaeem Qadri, Secretary Sports Saeed Ahmad Nawaz, Aisam-ul-Haq's father Ehtisham-ul-Haq and his brother were also present on the occasion. Paying glowing tributes to Aisam-ul-Haq on his performance, the Chief Minister said that it is an honour to play the final of US Open Tennis Tournament and the whole nation prayed for his victory. He stressed upon Aisam-ul-Haq to work hard and win laurels for the country. He said that Punjab government will make every effort for the promotion of tennis in the province and strategy will be evolved in this regard with the consultation of Aisam-ul-Haq. He issued necessary instructions to Secretary Sports in this regard. The Chief Minister said that Pakistan is facing the most devastating flood in its history and Aisam-ul-Haq should arrange sports charity shows at different places for the relief and assistance of flood victims. He said that Punjab government will provide all out facilities for this purpose and the income from these matches will be spent on the rehabilitation of the flood affectees. Tennis star Aisam-ul-Haq said that he owed his success to the grace of Allah Almighty and prayers of the nation. He said that his victory has improved the image of Pakistan at the international level and he will strive for further successes for the country. He said that Pakistan has a lot of talent and there is need for introducing tennis at school level. He said that relief and rehabilitation of flood affectees is the national responsibility and he will arrange sports charity matches to play his role in this regard. Later, the Chief Minister presented a gift to the national hero.
