CDA forms body to oversee billboards in city

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has formed a special committee to manage billboards in the federal capital.

CDA Chairman Engineer Farkhand Iqbal, expressing resentment over a large number of billboards put up at various locations without any strategy, has formulated a special committee to administer billboards and branding.

The committee has been given the charge of managing billboards and branding, which was with the municipal administration of the CDA in the past.

The committee comprised of Director General (Planning) Ghulam Sarwar Sindhu, the municipal administration director, the DFA chief landscape architect and the traffic engineering director.

The committee would not only scrutinise new applications for branding, but would also control billboards already installed at various spots in the federal capital.
