10 new graveyards approved

LAHORE - A meeting presided over by MNA Khawaja Saad Rafiq and Lahore Division Commissioner Jawad Rafiq Malik Tuesday gave approval for the establishment of 10 new graveyards in the surroundings of the provincial capital.

The meeting also constituted a four-member committee comprising DCO Lahore Noor ul Amin Mengal, Chief Metropolitan Planner Wasim Ahmad Khan, Additional Collector Revenue Nadir Chattha and Assistant Commissioner Revenue Amir Shafiq. The committee would finalise suitable sites for the purpose preferably near the residential localities.

Addressing the meeting Kh Saad Rafiq advised the officers to identify suitable sites with solid soil for the purpose. He said that for the establishment of these graveyards, sufficient funds would be allocated in the new budget.
