DCO orders early completion of roads
LAHORE - DCO Noor-ul-Amin Mengal Wednesday visited Allama Iqbal Road and Circular Road and inspected the construction work there. The DCO directed the authorities concerned to accomplish the construction work on these roads as soon as possible. He said that he would not compromise on the quality of construction material. He directed to close only one road at a time for construction work so that the flow of traffic could not be disturbed and the use of best quality material must be ensured. He directed the officers concerned to enhance the speed of construction work. The DCO said that Allama Iqbal Road and Circular Road are the busiest roads of the City and rapid completion of these roads is our preference. He inspected the sewerage system of the Allama Iqbal Road himself and directed the officers to speedily accomplish the work. He said that the hindrances in the construction work had been removed. He directed the officers concerned to fill up the digging holes. The DCO said that funds had been released for completing the construction work of Allama Iqbal Road. The DCO said that the provision of better facilities to citizens is the priority of City District Government and no compromise would be made on the provision of these facilities. He said that the comfort of citizens must be kept in mind during the construction work of roads. After that, DCO visited Circular Road and inspected the construction work. He said that the construction work of Circular road would be completed soon. He directed all officers concerned to accomplish their work as soon as possible. NLC, WASA and officers of district administration were also accompanied DCO. He expressed his satisfaction on the speed of construction work of Circular road and appreciated the efforts of Assistant Commissioner City Saira Umar. Case against profiteers: Price Control Magistrates inspected 375 shops and challaned 69 shopkeepers. In this regard, nine cases were registered, 10 people were arrested and Rs 73,100 fine was imposed during the ongoing drive against profiteers. DCO Mengal said that action would continue against profiteers. |
