LDA seals 30 showrooms in Samanabad
LAHORE THE Commercialization Directorate of Lahore Development Authority sealed a total of 30 showrooms, situated along the main road of Samanabad, on account of their failure in payment of commercialization fees on Monday.
During a grand operation, the staff of the LDA decided to register criminal cases against the owner and tenants who would break the locks of sealed showrooms. Earlier, the owners of these properties had repeatedly been served notices for depositing commercialization fees and granted a number of relaxations in the time for payment as well. For facilitating the calculation of the fees to be paid for commercialization of these properties with the LDA, the LDA staff had also measured the area of these properties which was being used for commercial activities by them. Meanwhile, the Lahore Development Authority informed the media that permission for temporary/annual commercialisation has been ceased on 46 declared roads as well as roads of re-classification area of Gulberg Scheme from December 31, 2012. The owners of these properties have been served notices for getting these properties permanently commercialised without delay by paying the requisite fees. They had been advised to apply for permanent commercialisation of their properties within seven days, failing which their properties would be sealed without further notices. Two LDA officers dismissed: Director General Lahore Development Authority Ahad Khan Cheema has dismissed two officials on account of their involvement in preparation of bogus property files of Mustafa Town, forged exemptions and illegal transfers of plots in the scheme. The dismissed officials include Muhammad Anwar, Staff Officer, and Khalid Iqbal, Senior Accountant. According to a handout, the said officials were proceeded under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability Act 2006 and directed to submit their reply to the show cause notice within seven days, failing which it would be presumed that they had no defence to offer. |
