CDA directed to expedite work on development projects
* Islamabad chief commissioner briefed on various ongoing development projects * Tarnol Police Station completed; four police barracks also under construction ISLAMABAD: Chief Commissioner Jawad Paul on Thursday directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to expedite work on development projects in Islamabad. He gave these directives while chairing a meeting to review the progress of development projects of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) being executed by the CDA. The chief commissioner said that the purpose of the meeting was to address the issues and bottlenecks being faced in implementation of these projects. CDA Project Director Ayaz Khan briefed the participants on the progress of the ongoing projects. He said that construction of IG Block within the premises of ICT Administration Block in Sector G11/4 was under progress and 50 percent of the structure had been completed. He said that Rs 30 million had been spent on the project and revised PC-1 was under process. It will be completed in February 2014 and the office of the inspector general of police would be shifted to its own block. Rs 10 million will be available during the year, he added. The participants were informed that 72 percent construction work on 15 houses for SPs in Sector H11 had been completed. Six houses are complete, while three houses are 95 percent complete and six other houses are 40 percent complete. Construction of Tarnol Police Station has been completed on which Rs 778,210 have been spent. Progress work on the construction of four police barracks in sectors G9 and G10 was also reviewed. It was informed that 90 percent work on the barracks have been completed in Sector G9 and police barracks in Sector G10 are completed and handed over to the police. A total of Rs 80.871 million have been spent on the project. Remaining work will be completed until September 2013.The project was approved at the cost of Rs 90.59 million and revised PC-1 of the project was under process. The meeting was informed that the construction work on two police barracks in Sector H11 and MT Shed has been completed. PC-1 of the project was approved at Rs 62.152 million. Construction of boundary wall of police lines H11 has also been completed. Construction of watchtower is 85 percent complete, while construction of eight gates of the boundary wall are complete and the remaining work will be completed by September 2013. PC-1 of the project was approved at Rs 117.50 million. Installation of security cameras and electric work remains to be completed. The chief commissioner directed the officials to further expedite the work on these projects and ensure their completion in time |
