Islamabad: ICT admin told to acquire land for road
ISLAMABAD: The subcommittee of the Senate Standing Committee on Law, Justice and Human Rights on Tuesday directed the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration to acquire land for construction of a link road between Kahuta Road and Islamabad Highway. It observed the road would be beneficial to the housing projects underway in the capital’s Zone-V, said a press release. The subcommittee met at Parliament House. Senator Anwar Bhinder chaired the meeting, which was attended by senators Kasloom Parveen, Gulshan Saeed and government officials concerned. The subcommittee reviewed matters related to the Senate Employees’ Cooperative Housing Society (SECHS), and Jammu and Kashmir Cooperative Housing Society (J&KCHS). It directed the ICT administration to acquire land for the proposed link road and the SECHS to begin work on the housing project whose layout plan has been approved. staff report
