Lahore: Beautification of Jallo Park starts
THE Punjab government has taken a number of steps to upgrade Jallo Park, spread at 456 acres, besides registration of cases and taking action against over-chargers and violators.
This was expressed by Secretary Forest Punjab Khusro Pervaiz Khan while talking to mediamen after inaugurating a three-day Workshop of Forest Guards at Jallo Park on Friday. He said beautification of roadsides from The Mall to Jallo Park had also started. He said as per instructions of Chief Minister Punjab, all efforts were being made to facilitate the visitors. He said security would be ensured and construction of boundary wall of Jallo Park was also being started. He said 50-km long track road of bicycle riding, badminton and volleyball courts, Scotties, cricket and other sports were also available in Jallo Park. He added that concrete steps were being adopted to give a new look to this park which would increase the number of visitors manifold. He told in this beautification plan, PHA, District Government, Irrigation and C&W Departments were playing their role. He said access would be provided to everyone through email and toll free number to register their complaints and suggestions for the betterment of Jallo Park. Secretary Forests further told that from all over Punjab, forests guards had been invited to this three-day workshop which would provide them an opportunity to study relevant field.
