‘Pak nuclear technology a miracle’

LAHORE

ONE of the pioneers of nuclear programme of the country, Dr Inamur Rahman has said that Pakistanís nuclear capability is a miracle considering the international and internal opposition the project received right from the start.

Addressing the audience at the Quran auditorium in connection with the Yaum-e-Takbeer, Dr Inam said the Zulfikar Ali Bhuttoís initiative and scientistsí hard work day in and day out helped the country acquire nuclear capability. He explained different phases of the programme, disclosing that the country was ready for nuclear tests in 1984.

He paid tribute to the martyred scientists who lost their lives during cold testing of the project and commended all those who dedicated their lives for the project.

Dr Inam said the country was a blessed with mineral and human resources which combined to create the crucial deterrence which helped liberate it form regional hegemony of India. He described interesting incidents and stories from the initial days of the project.
