Speak no evil – Prisoner has lips sewn together

LAHORE: The District Jail officials allegedly sewed the lips of an accused after torturing him.

Muhammad Asif who was arrested for his alleged involvement in a robbery case was presented before Judicial Magistrate Ahmed Saeed Sheikh on Wednesday in Model Town kutchery. Asif told the court the jail officials tortured him for not bribing them. He said later the jail officials sewed his lips. The court took notice of the incident and ordered to shift the accused from the District Jail to Camp Jail after medical check-up. The court also issued show cause notices to jail superintendent, the station house officer and the in-charge of the police guard and sought reply on June 6.
