Car company ordered to replace defective car

LAHORE: Lahore Consumer Court Judge Syed Maruf Ahmedali has ordered a car company to replace a 1300 CC car of the complainant and pay him Rs 10,000 as cost of the case within 10 days. The judge passed this order on a petition by Muhammad Malik Bhulla. The petitioner submitted that he purchased the car on July 26, 2000, but he sent it for inspection to the company dealer because of a defect in it. He said the dealer returned the car after two days without removing the fault. He said that he filed another complaint and the company engineer confirmed that there was a fault in the car. The petitioner said the company offered to replace the main shaft of the transmission assembly, but not the car. He prayed that the car had a manufacturing fault since day one and it should be replaced. staff report
