Cable car at Margalla Hills to check pollution
Capital Development Authority (CDA) is considering to initiate a cable car from Margalla Hills to the park area down the hill for saving fuel and making the atmosphere pollution free.
In a briefing to the National Assembly Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat here Monday at the Parliament House, Chairman CDA Imtiaz Inayat Elahi said with the introduction of the cable car system, citizens would not require their private vehicles to go up Margalla Hills. The CDA chairman further informed that the Authority is deliberating to run double-decker buses in Islamabad for tourists’ facilitation as a step forward to develop the tourism industry of the federal capital, adding that the first priority of CDA is to facilitate the people of Islamabad by developing its infrastructure. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dewan Ashiq Hussain Bokhari to brief on the functions of CDA and its attached sections. Members of the Committee included Malik Nawab Sher Waseer, Engineer Muhammad Tariq Khattak, Tariq Mahmood Bajwa, Nawab Abdul Ghani Talpur, Tariq Shabbir, Malik Shakir Bashir Awan, Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Sardar Muhammad Irfan Dogar and Shaikh Salahuddin. http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=190290 |
