Karachi: Signal-Free Corridor III extended, says Kamal
KARACHI: City Nazim Mustafa Kamal has said that the Signal-Free Corridor III has been extended through connecting it to the newly constructed avenue from the Toll Plaza to the Jinnah International Airport via Malir Cantonment.
The extension would ensure further shortening of the mileage from the Toll Plaza to Saddar, as the entire passage would be completed within 20 minutes. City Nazim Mustafa Kamal stated this while addressing a ceremony on the theme of ‘Who is the Role Model?’ held at the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants. Kamal in his address said that the citizens of the city have gained more maturity as they have started overseeing practical performances on behalf of government officials. Thus it has become impossible to dupe the citizens. This has resulted in a reality that the leaders have to cater to the needs of the citizens and government departments and officials are responsible to ensure provision of basic civic facilities, Kamal said, and added that it is still imperative that every citizen should play his or her role so that the country could progress. Kamal said that the Haq Parast leadership of the present city government belongs to the social middle class that has rapidly and on a large extent developed the city, and therefore it has become a role model for the rest of the country. This leadership has ensured construction of flyovers, bridges, underpasses, SFCs, parks, model academic and health institutions just in four years while in past, only a short bridge could be constructed in ten years, he said. The 18-kilometre long SFC-III would be opened for the citizens of the city on Aug 14, announced Kamal. Kamal urged the youth to play their role for building the country stronger from all aspects. staff report http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp...009_pg12_7 |
