Khar had hatched conspiracy to bomb corpse commanders conference: Brig (r) Imtiaz
LAHORE: Former Punjab governor Ghulam Mustafa Khar hatched a conspiracy to kill several army commanders in a bombing, former Intelligence Bureau (IB) director general Brigadier ® Imtiaz Ahmed alleged while talking to a private TV channel on Saturday.
He said Khar had hatched the conspiracy against several key Pakistan Army commanders and then Indian premier Indira Gandhi had approved the plot. He said an Indian official, Joshi, had arranged Khar’s meeting with Gandhi and finalised the plans. “According to the plot, Indian intelligence agency RAW would send arms to Pakistan,” he added. Imtiaz said Pakistani businessman Seith Abid had informed former president Ziaul Haq that Khar was planning a conspiracy against Pakistan in the “best interest of the country”. Denying the allegations, Khar said the story crafted by Brig ® Imtiaz was false. He said he had not known any Indian official named Joshi. He said some elements had hatched conspiracies to diminish his popularity and acceptance with the armed forces and the nation. He said he had travelled to India to visit the graves of saints, not hatch a conspiracy. daily times monitor http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp...009_pg7_24 http://www.jang.com.pk/jang/aug2009-dail.../main3.htm |
