Jaswant likely to visit Pakistan next month
NEW DELHI: Veteran Indian politician Jaswant Singh is likely to visit Pakistan early next month to launch his book on Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. “I may visit Pakistan early next month as the process of printing of my book in Pakistan will complete by the end of this month,” Singh told reporters at a book fair. On why he had cancelled his visit last month, he said, “I had postponed the visit not cancelled it, as a partner of the publishing company Rupa and Co in Pakistan is busy publishing the book. The process will be completed by the end of September.” Jaswant Singh, whose book Jinnah: India-Partition-Independence had created a furore in India, said it was the only book, which was equally popular on both sides of the border. He hoped his book would help develop friendly relations between Pakistan and India. On Friday, the Gujarat High Court lifted a ban on Singh’s book, saying the notification fell short of the “grounds” on which the book should be banned. app http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp...2009_pg7_3 |
