Lahore: Property agents, hotels told to keep record of tenants
CAPITAL City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Pervez Rathore has said that those property dealers and owners of hotels and guesthouses who would not keep record of their new tenants would be proceeded against whereas departmental action would also be taken against the SHOs concerned.
In an official communiquÈ, the CCPO directed the divisional SPs to ensure that property dealers of their areas kept complete record of new tenants and no room should be rented to any new comer without verifying original computerised identity card of the person concerned by the owners of hotels and guesthouses. He said property dealers and property owners should not strike any deal regarding any property or with any tenant without proper verification. He said cooperation of the citizens was essential with regard to eradication of all heinous crimes, including terrorism, as apparently insignificant information provided by the people could lead to end of a major crime. The CCPO said that criminal elements could be located through their suspicious activities and paying attention on the surroundings. He directed the divisional SPs to personally supervise patrolling in the city and conduct surprise visits to check efficiency of the police officials. He also directed the officers to utilise their energies to achieve their target by reorganising the lists of proclaimed offenders, court absconders, drug pushers, gambling dens and brothels in the city and take stringent action against them. He also underlined the need to promote community policing and keep close liaison with the notables of the area concerned for this purpose. CCPO directed immediate and timely action on any information received from the citizens and warned that strict action would be taken against any police official showing laxity in this regard. http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=198370 |
