Swat cinema reopens after three years

ISLAMABAD (September 24 2009): Much to the delight of young and old alike, a cinema house has started showing movies in Swat after a gap of three long years. The advent of the Taliban meant that slowly but surely enough music and the arts were banished forever in the green valley. But on this Eid, its doors opened to a huge crowd that was so overwhelmed that the police were called in for crowd control. Security was, as usual, still in place and everyone was searched before entering the hall.
