Govt fails to reduce load shedding
ISLAMABAD: Despite tall claims of enhancing power generation in the country, the government has failed to reduce load shedding by 50 percent in the month of August due to no improvement in hydel power generation. The officials are of the view that concerned authorities have failed to generate the hydel power as per actual hydel power generation capacity that is barring the authorities to reduce load shedding in the country. According to data available with Daily Times the hydel generation was around 2,500 megawatts of power on April 1, against the actual capacity of around 6,500 megawatts. According to sources the hydel power generation on August 18 was 6,120 megawatt but it dropped to 5,738 megawatts on August 19. atif khan http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp...008_pg5_23 |
