Sindh govt told to produce record of land sold in last 10 years
ISLAMABAD: A three-member bench of the Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered the Sindh government to produce within a month the record of state land sold in the last 10 years.
The SC has taken suo motu notice on media reports of the alleged sale of about 50 acres of land at cheaper rates. The bench consisted of Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Ghulam Rabbani and Justice Jawwad Khawaja. Justice Khawaja said, “The market price of a land does not mean that the chief minister fixes the price at his own will.” The court ordered the Sindh government’s Land Utilisation Department to produce the record of the land sold or leased during the last 10 years. The next hearing will be held on November 6. masood rehman http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp...009_pg7_22 |
