LHC issues stay orders against DHA

LAHORE: Justice Mian Saqib Nisar of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday issued a stay order against Defence Housing Authority (DHA) on a petition filed by Asset Plus. Petitioner’s counsel Ahmed Awais submitted that DHA authorities had hired Asset Plus to launch a community based TV channel. He said the DHA also released initial funds under an agreement and had also provided a place to set up the TV channel. According to the agreement, he said the DHA was supposed to provide a link with a media group to launch transmissions. He said the DHA annulled the agreement without mentioning a reason and demanded the already released amount from the petitioner, besides asking the petitioner to vacate the place. The counsel requested the court to direct the DHA to meet the terms of agreement. The judge ordered to maintain the status quo until November 27. staff report
