Rs 100m released for Pindi roads
RAWALPINDI: The Government of Punjab has released a grant of Rs 100 million for completion of under construction roads of Rawalpindi.
Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has paid 15 percent of mobilisation advance to NLC for construction of seven new roads. Sources said that Rs 16.192 million had been released for the construction of road from Carriage Factory Chowk to Railway Workshop, Rs 3.347 million for Bokra Road, Rs 4.760 million for Fowara Chowk, Rs 8.649 million for Pull Ratta Road and Rs 5.72 million for remodeling of Gunjmandi Road. Mobilisation advance of Rs 3.5 million for Saidpur Road project, Rs 0.9 million for remodelling of Gunjmandi Chowk, Rs 1 million for Ratta Amral Road, Rs 0.8 million for Astabal Road, Rs1.5 million for Fowara Chowk to Nullah Leh Chowk and Rs 1.2 million for Circular Road project have been issued to the NLC. WASA issues SOP: On directives of RDA Director General Makeen Shahbaz, Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director Chaudhary Naseer Ahmad has issued first Standing Operating Procedure (SOP) for monitoring of 280 tube wells to improve water supply system in the area. Ahmad said in a statement that the SOP would be strictly implemented to improve water supply system in the area. He said the officials who would not follow SOP would be punished, adding corruption would not be tolerated in WASA at any cost. He warned the citizens not to waste water and made it clear that installment of motor on water supply line was a crime and causing water contamination. He asked all illegal WASA consumers to regularise their connections, otherwise they have to face legal proceedings. online |
